"God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life." (John 3:16)
Easter is around the corner and the students in Year 7 had a wonderful time investigating the case of “The Missing Body.” A crime had been committed, a body was missing!
After the crucifixion, Jesus’ body was wrapped in burial clothes and placed in a friend’s tomb. However, when some of his friends went to complete the burial rites 36 hours later, the body was gone! Both the Jewish and Roman authorities of the day were terrified of the event this news might have on people. Jesus’ followers were claiming the most amazing things for their dead leader.
And so, the students assumed the role of detectives and searched the available sources in an effort to discover the truth of the matter. At the beginning of the investigation, we made a list of all the possible solutions to the conundrum and then interviewed a number of eyewitness accounts from St Luke’s gospel. We then reported on our outcomes.
Thus, we came to understand the greatest mystery that lies at the very heart of our Christian religion.
Weekend Worship will be held in St Luke’s Chapel on Sunday 24 March between 5.30 pm and 6.00 pm. Please come along and join us, all are very welcome.
