From the grit of the sporting field to the glamour of a cocktail party, what a week the P&F had last week!
On Thursday 6th and Friday 7th June, St Luke's hosted the Bundaberg District Primary Interschool Athletics carnival. With over 3000 students, staff and parents on the oval over both days, we sizzled, grilled, steamed and served our way through over 1000 sausages, 500 sausage rolls, 300 pies and numerous soups, wraps, cakes, brownies, muffins and slices. It was a phenomenal effort from our team of parent volunteers, who were so generous in donating their time and their baking and sausage sizzling skills. Feedback from the event has been extremely positive, with visitors being impressed by the facilities of St Luke's and the professionalism of the food service. Thank you to all our parent and student helpers for helping make this such a successful event for St Luke's. We hope to see you again next year!
Art Feast 2019
On Friday afternoon after the last sports hat was forlornly lost on the oval, our team of Art Feast volunteers moved in, curating an incredible exhibition of art from local Bundaberg and regional artists in the Middle School Building. The Art Feast exhibition was open over Saturday and Sunday, with strong visitor numbers and a variety of workshops on offer for the creatively-inclined. Artists donated a portion of their sales to the Burnett Youth Learning Centre, and we are thrilled to be able to present this valuable organisation with over $2000. The highlight of the weekend was the Gala Night cocktail party, where our hospitality students shone with their professionalism and poise while serving cocktails and canapes. Thank you to Kirstine Gill and Serena Curnock and their teams for the amazing menu. Look out for a full recap of Art Feast in the next newsletter.
