In the last week of the 2018 school year all families received a copy of the 2019 P&F Calendar. We would like to thank the following sponsors for their generous support of the St Luke’s P&F Calendar:
At James’s Place
Anthony McLucas Building
Dr Jai Eye Centre
Finemore Walters & Story
The Optical Superstore
Coral Coast Dental and Acclaim Dental
The P&F Calendar is a handy resource with all term dates, public holidays and student free days listed to help parents with their planning.
A decision was made not to include the dates of school events in the printed calendar due to the confusion that arises if dates need to be changed later in the year due to unforeseen circumstances. All school events are available and updated regularly on the website https://www.stlukes.qld.edu.au/calendar
At the end of November the P&F sizzled and served our way through over 1000 sausages over two nights, with the complimentary BBQ for the ELC and Prep to Year 2 Christmas Concerts. Thank you to our hard-working BBQ chefs, Lonnie Smilas and Brian Johnson, and to the team of volunteers who helped over both nights. It was wonderful to see so many happy, smiling little faces at such a special time of year.
Our major event for Term 1 is the St Luke’s 25th Anniversary Trivia Night on Friday 22nd March in the Middle School Building, with a 90’s theme to celebrate the founding year of St Luke’s in 1994. Tickets are $10 per person and are available at https://www.trybooking.com/book/event?eid=462965 If you don’t see yourself as a trivia buff but would still like to be involved in a fun night, helpers are needed for working on the P&F bar on the night, or for keeping a running tally of trivia results. If you would like to be involved please send an email to email@example.com; we would love to hear from you.
Our other major initiative for this term is the Anniversary Cookbook; look out for a letter from Mr Merritt and posts on our Facebook page on how you can contribute. The cookbook will be for sale at various events throughout the year and at both school offices.
On behalf of the P&F Committee I would like to extend a fond farewell and thank you to Ilaria Lombardi-Stuart, our P&F President, and wish the Stuart family well in their relocation to Brisbane. Ilaria’s hard work and organisational skills will be greatly missed by the Committee and the school community. Thank you, Ilaria.
