The Learning Hub
The Learning Hub is a wonderful place and an opportunity for students in Years 4 to 6, to complete homework, participate in tutoring on a Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday afternoon until 3:50pm, study or read quietly. From time to time, it has become evident that this opportunity may be being used as a social catchup time, which is not appropriate. If your child would prefer to have a more social afternoon, please book them into After School Care by contacting the Early Learning Centre on email@example.com .
Semester 1 Reports and Parent Teacher Interviews
Due to recent circumstances, we are making a few changes to the timing and content of Semester 1 student reports across the school. In order to maximise the time for teaching and learning, the Semester 1 report will be issued through the Parent Portal on Friday 24 July - Week 2 of Term 3. This will enable the teachers time to gather evidence of learning up until the end of Term 2, complete marking and reporting, and allow students more time with their teachers to ensure they are up to date with their work.
Specific details are as follows:
- Primary Parent Teacher Interviews will be conducted on 29 and 30 July. Bookings will open at the start of Term 3.
- Prep students will receive a comment on student progress, aptitude, and commitment to their learning. No levels of achievement will be given until the end of Semester 2 Report.
- Year 1 - 6 students will receive a Grade (A-E) in all subjects except Visual Art and Technology. These subjects will receive a comment on student progress, aptitude, and commitment to their learning based upon the limited availability to assess student achievement levels. Some students may have further modified report cards based upon their individual circumstances. English and Mathematics will be reported upon with an overall Grade rather than with sub-criteria due to the modified curriculum delivered during learning from home.

Junior Aussie Rules: Kookaburras
A new program designed to get more kids moving in Bundaberg is being launched in Term 3 which is being supported by St Luke’s Anglican School and led by a group of passionate local families.
The concept for Junior Aussie Rules came about to give Primary School aged children a chance to join in teams of 7 and play over eight weeks in Term 3. The Junior Aussie Rules is an inclusive non-contact sport for children of all abilities. It is a way to offer an easy way for kids and parents to get moving, have fun and make friends.
Registration is open to Primary School aged children at a cost of $25 per child or $50 per family (immediate family members only).
Training sessions will be held on Tuesdays during Term 3 at St Luke's Anglican School from 3.30 pm, with supervision available from 3:00pm.
Team games will be held at 9am Sundays from 19 July to 6 September at St Luke's Sporting Fields, Kalkie.
