Promoting Adolescent Health and Well-Being
We are very fortunate to secure the services of Paul Dillon to talk with our parents regarding adolescent drug related issues on Wednesday 30 October from 6.00 pm to 7.30 pm in the Lecture Theatre. Paul will also work with our Year 10-12 students on Thursday 31 October in a series of workshops.

Year 12 Focus on Final Term
Year 12 students will need to continue working hard until Thursday 7 November, which is the last day of their final examinations. For each and every subject there will be at least one piece of summative assessment during the course of the term. As the term progresses there are distractions such as preparing for the Senior Formal which is being held on Wednesday 13 November, being the last week for the Year 12’s. A failure to remain focused on their academic studies could result in a significant change to their end of year results.
Pink Ribbon Ladies’ Afternoon Tea
The annual Ladies’ Afternoon tea will be held this Saturday 19 October 2019. As always, it will be a wonderful opportunity for us to share as a community while supporting a very worthwhile cause. I would just like to congratulate the organising committee, participating Year 12 students and staff for their hard work. I would also like to take this opportunity to especially thank the Year 12 mothers for their time and effort in coordinating this event.
Congratulations to those students who received recognition for their contribution to Service at the School this week Service Awardees 2019. It is always amazing to see how many activities our Senior students, in particular, support throughout the year. Volunteering to these Service activities is very important, not only from a school viewpoint but it also has its benefits to the individual. These include connection to others in the community, keeping you mentally stimulated, assisting with gaining employment and a sense of fun and fulfillment to your life. If you have never been involved in a Service activity try to take part in the near future.
Verification Day - Monday 21 October
The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority Verification day for all Senior School subjects will be held on Monday 21 October. As this has a large impact on the number of staff attending, Monday has been designated a Student Free Day.
St Luke’s Foundation Day - Wednesday 30 October
We will be celebrating our 25th Foundation Day this year with a Worship Service beginning at 1.00pm in the MPC. All parents and past students are invited to attend this event which will conclude with the “Battle of the Baton” a whole school interhouse relay event. Last year this was a fantastic spectacle and I hope many of you are able to attend.
